Global Warming - just a scam

If it was real, you wouldn't do this...
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/21/opinion/sunday/friedman-how-to-put-america-back-together-again.html

A quote:
Until we fully understand what turned two brothers who allegedly perpetrated the Boston Marathon bombings into murderers, it is hard to make any policy recommendation other than this: We need to redouble our efforts to make America stronger and healthier so it remains a vibrant counterexample to whatever bigoted ideology may have gripped these young men. With all our warts, we have built a unique society — a country where a black man, whose middle name is Hussein, whose grandfather was a Muslim, can run for president and first defeat a woman in his own party and then four years later a Mormon from the opposition, and no one thinks twice about it. With so many societies around the world being torn apart, especially in the Middle East, it is vital that America survives and flourishes as a beacon of pluralism.Rebuilding our strength has to start with healing our economy. In that regard, it feels as if our budget drama has dragged on for so long that it has not only been drained of all emotional energy but nobody even remembers the plot anymore. It’s worth recalling: What are we trying to do? …
So what to do?  We need a more “radical center” — one much more willing to suggest radically new ideas to raise revenues, not the “split-the-difference-between-the-same-old-options center.” And the best place to start is with a carbon tax.

Cool! Thanks for the views

Considering I never advertise, it is nice that I get hits.

This is basically a place for me to rant and leave my thoughts for the moment.  It is also a time capsule of progress on my cancer  - the first motivator on starting this blog.

I just thought that this was cool...

Thanks!

Confessions of a Counter-Revolutionary

Victor Davis Hansen gets it right again...

Am I a counter revolutionary?

Hmmm...

Global warming: a scam.  If the solution is a big government program to tell folks to do what is counter productive - it is a scam.

Guns:  Yes, they want to take the guns.  Stop pretending that they don't, just look at the obvious...

Gay marriage  Seems like they want to define down what is normal... I made an oath in front of God, my church, my family, my community and interestingly some gays, to honor my wife, love, cherish, and protect her, and raise a family.

Are you gay? Fine - go and be excellent to each other.  I will leave you alone.  But by my definition of marriage, you don't fit the requirements.

Illegal immigration:  What part of illegal (out of the law - not in line with the law) do you not understand.

The economy:  Well, there is nothing happening now that I see that is positive.  Most of it seemingly by design.

Hmmm...

Seems like I am counter revolutionary - does that make me cool now?

Elected officials update...

Well, state Senator Huff got back to me.  Here is the letter:

Thank you for contacting my office regarding your concern about gun control in light of the tragedy in Connecticut.  I appreciate you taking the time to write me on issues mattering most to you.
It goes without saying that what took place at Sandy Hook Elementary school is one of the saddest tragedies in American history.  My heart goes out to everyone who is affected by that shooting.  However, a rash jump to conclusions and new gun control laws on the issue is not the answer in my eyes.  Mental health services must be part of the discussion to curb gun violence.  I have added a link on my Senate website regarding where to go for mental health services.  Please go to: http://senweb03.senate.ca.gov/focus/mentalhealth/index.html
I am a supporter of the Second Amendment and I have always opposed measures that seek to diminish a gun owner’s right.  Making it harder for law abiding citizens to carry their weapons or ammunition does not accomplish anything, nor do I think it would have prevented the tragedy in Connecticut.  In fact, a recent article in the Sacramento Bee states that while gun sales in California have increased, gun injuries have actually decreased.  While there have been many bills introduced in California dealing with this subject, the greater debate will take place on the national level.  I would encourage you to share your thoughts with your federally elected officials as well.  Rest assured, your thoughts on this issue were logged and taken into consideration.
Once again, thank you for contacting me.  If I may be of further assistance on this or any other state-related matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at either of my offices.  It is an honor to represent you in the State Senate.
Sincerely,
Bob Huff
Senator, 29th District

Yea, even though I am a gun nut, I'm not clicking on that link...
