I like this

A low point in our political history, this video makes fun of it...

Every one in that room should be run out of town.

Health update

Well, I am feeling OK at the moment.

My toes and now my fingers are getting a bit numb, but that comes and goes. Doctors think that it is from the Thalomid and not a new tumor (like last time).

Thyroid seems under control, but I can get manic sometimes (hey, a clean house! hey, are-you-done-wearing-that-I-have-to-do-laundry! letscleanthekitchenagain!) . I do sweat while sitting in front of the computer posting on the blog, so go figure.

My back still does the wiggle when I stand up straight and still.

I am still overweight, and that isn't going away.

Muscle cramps are still common, but I think it has to do with my calcium intake -- two or more 600 + D chewables does the trick.

Esh, gotta go get my hair cut.

Shampoo!

Well, my golden locks are slowly returning to the point that I actually used shampoo today. Just a drop, but it did lather up in the shower.

Problem is that it is no longer golden... gray on the sides and dark on the top. We will see.

It is nice to have my energy back. This week I actually worked in the yard some, did a bit of plumbing, and worked on a project for NJS some.

Now, if I can only get my brain back on track. I seem to have serious challenges with names. No kidding. I was at a holiday party, met some folks (I have known them for years), and could not place their names. Everything else I knew, where they lived, what they do, their favorite color, everything. Total blank on the names. It also happened in the chemo lab. I saw the Cancer Coordinator Maven, and it took me several hard thinking minutes to place the name. Quite frustrating. Doesn't seem to effect people I see on a daily basis, but I have been out of circulation for a while.

I also need to get my flexibility up. I have troubles getting up out of a chair (nothing like last year), and my balance is a bit off for a second. If I get on the floor, I am like a drunk walrus trying to get up. I used to be able to put my hands behind my back and stretch, no more. With time and activity, I hope that this will improve.

Gotta finish dinner...

Scary things at Disneyland -- Pre Halloween!

The crowds have thinned a bit at Disneyland, and I have been taking the girls there more often (while I can). While it's not Bats Day (dark, gothic idiots walking around in 90 degree heat) or Gay Day ('nuff said), you still can find freakishly dressed people around.

While I am obsessing about my hair, I saw two unfortunates that I had to take pictures of.

Purple Hair -- something to distract from the big butt, probably. Why would someone ruin perfectly good hair? Makes no sense to me.

Ultimate Mullet -- over compensating for the bald spot? Look, at some point, give up the youthful long hair. It's gray, stringy, and probably gets in your chicken noodle soup. You are not a Jedi Knight in training, either. Yes, it's impressive, probably taking the better part of 20 years of not cutting it, but it's over. It's 2008, not 1968.

The thing is, if you stare at them, they get irritated about it. Gosh, is that not what you wanted in the first place?

I have the same disdain for tattoos, and unless you are a pirate or a Marine, you are just a poser...
